Editorial standards

Last updated: August 2026

Our publishing controls are designed to keep service and location pages useful, attributable, and honest about what this matching service can and cannot confirm.

Sources before claims

Local rules, licensing guidance, prices, statistics, and other checkable claims require a recorded source, retrieval date, and reviewer decision. Unsourced legacy copy remains draft and is not published as verified guidance.

Named human review & AI policy

AI-assisted drafting tools may help organize and structure material, but they cannot approve a page for publication. Every page requires sign-off from a named human reviewer, an immutable content version, and applicable legal and market-readiness approvals.

Visible content and schema agree

Structured data is generated from the same approved fields shown on the page. Editors cannot paste independent schema markup, hidden claims, or fabricated review data.

Corrections and takedowns

Material changes create a new revision instead of overwriting history. We can immediately remove a page while preserving its audit record, and use a redirect only when a genuinely equivalent replacement exists.

Independent providers

GetLocalExperts is a matching service, not the contractor. Provider availability is never assumed. Homeowners should verify current licensing, insurance, scope, estimates, and permit responsibility before hiring.

Request a correction

Send the content type, content ID, page URL, and a supporting source. Reports enter a tracked editorial queue, and we retain the prior revision to document the outcome.
